B.Sc (Hons) in Biological Sciences Accelerated Bachelor Programme


Entry Requirements

Selection criteria and commencement date
  1. Application for the Accelerated Programme B.Sc.(Hons) in Biological Sciences is offer by invitation only to:
    • student who has applied as his/her 1st choice to read a B.Sc. (Hons) in Biological Sciences or B.Sc. (Hons) in Biological Sciences with business minor
    • student upon admission based on outstanding Pre-U academic results
    • selected students after Year 1 based on outstanding academic results
  2. This Accelerated BSc.(Hons) curriculum applies to students admitted in AY2011/2012 and onwards.
  3. The Accelerated BSc.(Hons) programme has an intensive programme structure. Qualified students are required to maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade-Point-Average (CGPA) of 4.0 throughout the programme.
There is no online-application for the Accelerated Programme B.Sc.(Hons) in Biological Sciences. Students who are interested in this program and have fulfilled the above requirements should contact the School of Biological Sciences Undergraduate office (Academic Manager)at Hylee@ntu.edu.sg for more details.

For GCE 'A' level certificate holders:

  1. General entry requirements of NTU
  2. At least H1 level pass in Mathematics AND H2 level pass in one of Physics OR Chemistry OR Biology

Students with “A” grades in H2 or H3 subjects , may be considered for course exemptions.

For Polytechnic graduates:

  1. General entry requirements of NTU
  2. Graduates holding any of the diplomas listed are eligible for application. Graduates with a Certificate of Merit (or equivalent honour) in other diplomas are also eligible to apply.


  • All other outstanding applicants with a diploma marked with * above may be considered for Direct entry into 2nd year (finish in 3 years)
  • Students admitted into the 1st year may be granted exemption from up to 3 courses, on a case-by-case basis, depending on academic merit and relevance of courses already taken.
  • Diploma with Merit holders without the above diplomas may be admitted into the 1st year of the programme and exemption of courses granted on a case-by-case basis.
