General overview of application procedures
* Candidates may approach faculty to set up NTU-KI Collaboration projects
Candidates must have Bachelor's degree with minimum 2nd upper class honours and the ability to pursue research in their proposed field of advanced study. Priority is given for candidates graduated from Singapore universities.
Selected candidates will be invited for a selection interview chaired by the School of Biological Sciences graduate admission committee.
All successful candidates are admitted as Research Students in the first instance with the students expected to be confirmed as PhD candidates after a confirmation exercise. The candidates will be also required to sit for an admission seminar via video conferencing with the Karolinska Institutet counterparts after gaining admission.
Candidates will be required to fulfill the course work requirements with a minimum GPA of 3.5. Half of the requirements will be taken in NTU and the remaining requirements will be fulfilled in Karolinska Institutet. Courses at doctoral level can be found on Karolinska Institutet website and NTU website. Candidates will have work out a detailed study plan with their supervisor and courses at Karolinska Institutet will be approved only at the time of admission to Karolinska Institutet.
Candidates must pass an oral examination on the course matter of their thesis and other related matters.
Period of Candidature
Candidates will spend 2 years in NTU and 2 Years in Karolinska Institutet.
